What is AmeriCorps?
AmeriCorps is a bridge builder, a force multiplier, a way to connect individuals and organizations to support their communities in tackling challenges. AmeriCorps programs across the country address a variety of community needs like education, economic opportunity, environmental stewardship, healthy futures, disaster response, and veteran & military family services.

What is Resilience Corps NC?
Established in 2015, Resilience Corps NC (previously Project GEOS/CTNC AmeriCorps) serves as one of the oldest AmeriCorps NC programs in the state, having placed over 200 AmeriCorps members in service to communities from Sylva to Manteo. Resilience Corps NC places excited and passionate citizens of all demographics in positions with cities, towns, nonprofits and government agencies to address critical capacity issues in climate resilience, environmental education, land stewardship, climate justice, and volunteerism. We are funded by VolunteerNC, the volunteer agency in the Governor’s Office, and by AmeriCorps.

What does Resilience Corps NC do?
The AmeriCorps placements under our program seek to address our state’s changing climate by expanding community outreach and providing project management opportunities to address climate-related issues to wildfires, flooding, sustainable agriculture, urban heat islands, and tree canopies solutions. We also look for positions related to environmental education, land conservation and stewardship, waterway protection and floodplain planning, capacity building for public agencies, and volunteer generation opportunities.
